Even the great Leonardo da Vinci wrote cold outreach messages!

Early in his career, Leonardo was an artist and engineer looking for better work. The letter linked below led to a job* in the court of Milan's duke, who would commission The Last Supper painting ten years later.

His pitch in modern language basically read:

“You know my competitors and their products, but I can offer you new, innovative solutions to your battlefield problems. Here are ten things I can build for you.

Don’t believe me? Let’s meet, and I’ll show you.

Also, I can sculpt and paint, including working on your father’s commemorative bronze horse statue.”

If they don’t know what you can do, they can’t hire you to help.
